Lot Essay

The reference 5102 is an astronomical wristwatch that borrows the principle of the celestial canopy from one of the most complicated wristwatches ever produced by Patek Philippe - reference 5002 Sky Moon Tourbillon. The nocturnal sky of the northern hemisphere rotates to show the apparent angular motion of the stars and moon as well as the progression of the phases of the moon. Hours and minutes are displayed by two pierced white hands. A delicate elliptical contour on the inside of the glass frames the portion of the sky that can be seen from all cities that share the latitude of Geneva.

This model was launched in 2002, first in white gold only, to be later replaced with yellow gold and finally with pink gold and platinum combination.

Fresh to the market and consigned by the original owner, the present watch was recently serviced by Patek Philippe Geneve and is in extremely good overall condition.
