Lot Essay

A. Lange & Söhne presented their second chronograph model, the “1815 Chronograph” at 2004 SIHH. The movement supplied with this model, the calibre L951.0, was directly derived from the “Datograph Flyback”. It retains all the technical and constructional characteristics of its predecessor only with the absence of the double-disk grand date.

Apart from the complex jumping minutes hand, the “1815 Chronograph” also features a pulsometric scale for measuring one’s heart rate, a feature that is highly useful in the medical profession.

The “1815” series is dedicated to Mr. Adolph Lange, the founder of A. Lange & Söhne and the year he was born.

For an example of the "Datograph Flyback", please see Lot 2418 in this sale.
