formed as a covered basket suspended by an enamelled bar and link gold chain from an enamelled gold ring, the sides, base and domed cover chased with cartouches and scrolls and enamelled in pale blue and white, with sprays of pink roses and white, blue and red flowers in the cartouches, pearl-set finial and ruby push-pin opening, the hinged pierced grille with engraved foliate pattern
