A MOLDED AND CARVED BISCUIT SNUFF BOTTLE
WANG BINGRONG, JINGDEZHEN KILNS, 1820-1850
The outer wall of the double-walled bottle is molded in high relief with a four-clawed dragon with black-enameled pupils chasing a flaming pearl against a continuous pierced background of clouds and flames, and the base is carved with the seal Bingrong.
2 3/8 in. (6 cm.) high, glass stopper

Molded bottles of this type are usually enameled in a monochrome color, such as a bottle of very similar design attributed to Wang Bingrong, covered with a caramel-brown glaze, from the J & J Collection of Snuff Bottles, Part III, sold at Christie's New York, 29 March 2006, lot 12.
