A SANCAI-GLAZED POTTERY CENSER
TANG DYNASTY (AD 618-907)
The flaring dish with flat, everted rim is raised on five molded supports, each surmounted by a horned bird head, and the base is formed as a low ring. The dish and molded supports are covered with a splashed glaze of amber, dark olive-green and cream color, and the base is amber-glazed.
6 1/8 in. (15.5 cm.) diam.
