Lot Essay

Highly attractive and rare, the present Rolex Day-Date impresses through the quality and delicacy of its grossularite dial. Known for their fragile nature and propensity to break when exposed to shocks, the present dial can be considered as being amongst the finest examples due to its intact nature, further embellished by brilliant-cut diamond-set numerals carefully placed within gold chatons.

An impressive specimen, this ref. 18078 features an attractive bark-finish bezel and bracelet presented in attractive overall condition.

Launched in the 1970s, the reference is fitted with a Hesalite crystal and was equipped with the caliber 3055 introducing the quick-set date function.
