Lot Essay

Rolex Day-Dates with stone dials are rare in their own right. Examples with a tiger’s eye dial, such as the present ref. 18078, are among the rarest because the tiger’s eye dial is mainly found on the Datejust model due to the difficulty of cutting the days of the week aperture in the stone.

To date, less than ten examples of the Day-Date with tiger’s eye dial have appeared at international auction.

This particular example is even more unusual featuring a bark finish bezel and bracelet centre links. It is furthermore presented in very attractive overall condition.
