A LARGE BLUE-GROUND EMBROIDERED SILK 'HUNDRED BIRDS' PANEL INSET INTO A WOODEN SCREEN

The panel is embroidered with pairs of various birds, including peacocks, mandarin ducks, kingfisher, sparrows, a long-tailed bird, and magpies, all amongst blossoming peonies, magnolia, and lotus flowers and below insects in flight. The panel is set into a wooden frame carved in openwork with leafy angular scrolls, the stand is carved with lotus scrolls and stands on two recumbent Buddhist lion feet.
