Lot Essay

Commissioned by renowned watch brand Audemars Piguet, and made in around 1982, this highly attractive keyless pocket watch is both thin and sophisticated in design. Due to the great degree of skill and specialisation required by the art, there are few pocket watches that feature a hand painted enamel back. The present example is one of a small series of pocket watches painted by artist Ni Gi Barna, and features a rural scene of an English fox hunt.
