En 1966, la galerie Le Lutrin, installée à Lyon, offre à l’artiste Carol Rama sa toute première exposition personnelle en France. Elle y présente une nouvelle série d’œuvres intitulées « Bricolages » dont est issu ce remarquable ensemble qui, plus de cinquante ans plus tard, apparaît pour la première fois aux enchères. « Les Bricolages de Carol Rama apparaissent comme autant de fleurs vénéneuses, épanouies au sein de serres complices, conservées à l’abri de troublants herbiers. » écrivait René Deroudille pour introduire les travaux de l’artiste turinoise. Accueillie par Paul Gauzit, le directeur de la galerie, et accompagnée par son ami l’écrivain Edoardo Sanguinetti, Rama choque alors et impressionne par cette œuvre si personnelle et poétique.

She presents then a new series of works entitled “Bricolages" (DIY) of which this remarkable ensemble is part. More than fifty years later, it appears for the first time at auction. "Carol Rama’s Bricolages appear as so many poisonous flowers, blooming within conspiratorial greenhouses, kept away from troubling herbarium” wrote Rene Deroudille to introduce the work of the Turin artist.
