Lot Essay

Amongst watch enthusiasts, reference 6238 is often referred to as a "Pre-Daytona" and enjoys today growing popularity within the community of Rolex collectors. Launched circa 1960, the reference 6238 was the company's last traditional chronograph wristwatch with a polished bezel. Clearly designed as a sport watch, the reference 6238 maintains, thanks to its case proportions, a very refined yet masculine look.

The present watch is a striking example with its very rare silver/grey dial which is preserved in excellent condition.
