Consigned by its original owner the present watch is fresh to the market and preserved in very good overall condition. It is no. 3/15 of the white gold ref. 5296 Somazzi limited edition and believed to be also the only third white gold example of this model to appear in public to date.
Somazzi is a one of the oldest watch retailers located in Lugano, Switzerland, having been owned and operated by the Somazzi family for five generations.
In 2010, for their 150th Anniversary, and the 104th anniversary of Somazzi as a retailer of their watches, Patek Philippe dedicated a special edition of the reference 5296, made in a very limited edition of only fifteen examples each in white and rose gold, with an elegant dark blue dial and the retailer's signature on the sapphire crystal display back.

Launched in 2005, reference 5296 is inspired by Patek Philippe’s celebrated vintage Calatrava models from the 1930s.
It was first available in white and pink gold with sector dial and later with a more traditional style featuring applied gold indexes.
