Lot Essay

Highly attractive, the Saxonia was amongst the four watches that debuted in the first collection of the watch manufacturer A. Lange & Söhne in 1994. With its simple and elegant design, the Saxonia took a permanent place within the collection of the manufacture, paying homage to Saxony and the savoir faire of watchmakers of the region.

Of the upmost technical and mechanical precision, the movement of the timepiece stops when the crown is pulled by its wearer, enabling the upmost precision for time-setting. Made of silver, the dial encompasses the patented oversized date window with two openings framed in white gold as well as a subsidiary second’s counter, all residing within a three piece platinum case of elegant proportions. As commonly seen for the German manufacture, the movement features a three-quarter plate in German silver and provides its wearer with a 42 hour power reserve.
