Lot Essay

The Comité Utrillo has confirmed the authenticity of this work.
“I was born in Paris on 25 December 1883, on a Christmas night, at 3, rue de Poteau, next to the church of Notre-Dame de Clignancourt. This is not a very beautiful church and not very old, and there it is all on its own; but I like it all the same and I have painted it for my mother who looks after it.” -Maurice Utrillo
