Lot Essay

Reference 605 was in production from 1941 until the mid-1960s and available in majority with yellow gold case. Only 27 pieces are believed to be produced in pink gold. The world time pocket watch is fitted either with a plain metal dial or a unique cloisonné enamel dial. The latter could depict individual continents, hemispheres or even the entire planet. Different hands are seen for this reference such as circle hour hands and "lys" hour hand found with the present example.

The presently offered watch, exceptionally rare and in unrivaled condition, offers the collector the opportunity to own of the most important complications ever offered by Patek Philippe.

We are grateful to Eric Tortella for his assistance and study in researching this reference.
