Lot Essay

The Breitling Superocean ref. 2005 features a chronograph that indicates the passage of minutes as opposed to a standard chronograph that shows the passage of seconds. Above the 6 o'clock hour marker is a circular aperture that when yellow, indicates the chronograph is engaged, and that when shows a small yellow dot, indicates the chronograph is stopped. The aperture shows black when the chronograph is not running. Additionally, the watch features a 'yachting' bezel that is marked for its use with Regatta start times.
