Lot Essay

In this work, Chu Teh-Chun chose paper as a medium, combined with expressive painting method to display the ethereality and gorgeous of the nature. The light ink washes complement the dense dark ink, evoking a rich sense of overlapping void and solid, and displaying the readability of visual complexity. Various sizes of orange, red and green jump out of the picture plane that is expanded with the spreading of acrylic, implying the vitality of the world. Chu Teh-Chun blended in the working method of Chinese calligraphy to harmonize it with painting. The penetrating yet crisp brushwork exhibits the artist's unique understanding of painting on paper.
