Details
Conti Costanti, Montalcino
Today, Andrea Costanti is responsible for wine production. The microscopic winery produces almost exclusively Rosso and Brunello the traditional way, fine and elegant, yet concentrated and enormously long-lasting wines. Since both wines come from the same vineyard, the Rosso is practically a declassed Brunello, similar to the second wine of a large Bordeaux. For the magnificent 2001 Brunello, Parker gave 93 points, a great wine for long storage, similar to the wonderful 1999, which is slowly reaching its first drinking phase. The 1997 (93 points in Wine Spectator) begins to strip off his youthful hardness and to show why this vintage in Montalcino is already revered by fans of the "real", traditional Brunello.
