MRS. ISABEL DODGE SLOANE
Born in 1896, Isabel Dodge Sloane was the daughter of the American tycoon John F. Dodge, co-founder of the eponymous company, one of the most important automobile producer of his time. Thanks to her family's wealth, Isabel attended one of America’s high-end college, Liggett School in Detroit, where she personally nurtured connections with the social elite that were previously established by her family. In 1921 Isabel married George Sloane, the marriage ended in divorce eight years later. Owner of Brookmeade Stable, a competitive thoroughbred horse racing stud, she became the first woman to achieve a money win in Kentucky Derby in 1934.
