Lot Essay

The epitaph script was written for Luo Qingyuan, Pu Ru’s wife. Luo was an ethnic Mongolian, daughter of Sheng Yun, the governor of Shaanxi and Gansu provinces in the late Qing Dynasty. She excelled in painting and had two sons with Pu Ru. She died in 1947 and was buried in Beijing.
