Lot Essay

These endangered species straps are shown for display purposes only and are not for sale. The watches will be supplied with calf leather straps.

According to the Archives of Chopard Manufacture SA, the watches were sold to their Geneva Salons at Rue du Rhône in 2002.

These three watches are preserved in like new condition and comprise a full set of the three available models of the limited L.U.C. Quattro ref. 16/91863 edition of 1’860 examples each launched in the early 2000s, now discontinued. The sporty yet elegant timepieces are fitted with hand-guilloché dials and Chopard’s L.U.C. Calibre 1.98.

Chopard's L.U.C Calibre 1.98 is the first hand-wound movement to feature four barrels, each of which contains a 47 cm. long mainspring. The sum of their lengths is a lavish 1.88 metres, which enables this calibre to store sufficient energy for 216 hours or 9 days of uninterrupted running. This exceptional autonomy is displayed by a large power reserve indicator on the dial. The COSC-certified chronometer movement requires winding only once a week, the additional two days of unused power reserve provide a comfortable margin and enhance the stability of the complex mechanism's rate.
