A CONNOISSEUR'S SUPERLATIVE BURGUNDY COLLECTION
The following 87 lots come from the cellars of a true connoisseur of the finest wines - particularly Burgundy’s most hallowed terroirs. The collector was the president of the Oxford University Wine Circle for a time in the 1980s. This is where he developed a deep understanding of these singular wines and built relationships with many of the most established London merchants such as Corney & Barrow, OW Loeb, Adnams, Berry Brothers and many others. The wines in this collection have all been acquired from leading fine wine merchants, many via the producers’ UK agents, and have been stored in temperature and humidity-controlled Bonded warehouses since purchase. This is one of the most focused collections of grand cru Burgundy we have offered in recent years. The selection of wines from the Domaines de la Romanée-Conti, Armand Rousseau and Denis Mortet in particular are stunning. Cases of bottles and magnums of wines like La Tâche and Chambertin stack up next to each other in deep parcels.
