If the … Read more Georges Jouve réalise trois tables pour le chateau de Ratilly où il sera invité par Jeannette et Norbert Pierlot dès 1956, pour organiser des ateliers de poterie et exposer ses créations. Une version plus grande au plateau rectangulaire y est toujours exposée, les deux autres versions plus petites présentent un plateau ovoïde (comme notre exemplaire). Le plateau de cette table nous rappelle la formation que Georges Jouve a suivi à l'école Boulle et son montage nous évoque les sculptures à mécanismes qu'il créera par la suite.Georges Jouve created three tables for the Château de Ratilly where he was invited by Jeannette and Norbert Pierlot in 1956 to organise pottery workshops and exhibit his works. A larger version with a rectangular top is still on display there. The other two smaller versions have an ovoid top (like our piece). The top of this table reminds us of the training Georges Jouve received at the École Boulle and the way it is assembled reminds us of the technical side of the mechanical sculptures he would later create.
