Movement: Manual, gilt brass full plate, fusée and chain, verge escapement, engraved and pierced cock, engraved foot, quarter repeating on two hammers onto a bell, metal dust cap, both signed
Dial: White enamel, Roman numerals
Case: Pair cased, inner case with enraved floral and foliage decorated border, back centred by a stylised star, outer case with moss agate plates set into the engraved and pierced foliage and scroll decoration, 50 mm. overall diam.

Lot Essay

The present timepiece is an attractive example of an 18th century repeating watch made in London.

The inner case is decorated with a finely chiseled and pierced foliage pattern and a cherub’s head, the gold outer case with agate plates in a ring of acanthus leaves and double-gadroon bezel.
