The present Kurt Klaus ref. 3762 is no. 39 of the limited edition of only 50 examples in platinum. It is preserved in close to new old stock condition and sold with the original certificates and accessories.
The "Kurt Klaus" Da Vinci edition pays tribute to the outstanding watchmaker Kurt Klaus who spent more than fifty years with the company as a highly successful designer and inventor. During this period, his designs included an easy-to-use perpetual calendar that could be set using the crown and a moon phase display that required no corrector buttons. If for some reason the watch has not been worn for some time, all the displays - i. e. the date, day, month, four-digit year and perpetual moon phase - can be advanced synchronously, a day at a time, using the crown.
Kurt Klaus and his perpetual calendar are described and illustrated in IWC Schaffhausen - Engineering Time Since 1868 by Manfred Fritz, Paulo Coelho, Enki Bilal, pp. 446-449. The Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Edition Kurt Klaus in pink gold is illustrated on p. 465, op. cit.
