Further Details
"Despite being quite common, doves hold a special place in our minds and in our myths. Their whiteness and apparent guilelessness... have fostered an association with innocence that has been taken to symbolize everything from the Holy Spirit in Christian mythology to fertility in Greco-Roman culture. The dove also crops up in Islam, whispering as an oracle into the ear of Mohammed. White doves are really just a variety of pigeon, but seem far removed from those feral creatures... As with humans, it seems color can carry a lot of significance." - Tim Flach
