Lot Essay

Christo

"I remain faithful to the vocation of the bridge, the only toll-free bridge in 1606, which was conceived as a place of book passage and hospitality. In short, to pack it in is to provoke a new conceptual and sensory impact, but also welcoming to the public. "
Christo

Christo

"When the Pont Neuf was wrapped, it could be considered a sculpture. But the bridge did still function as a bridge; the boats were passing underneath it, people were still crossing the river by using it. The work of art borrowed one of the most successful parts of urban design. And all the elements of this urban design, all these resources, became part of art perception."
