AN EXCEPTIONAL PRIVATE COLLECTION FEATURING AN EXTENSIVE SELECTION FROM DOMAINE DE LA ROMANEE-CONTI & OUTSTANDING BORDEAUX
I am delighted to be introducing this single-owner collection at Christie’s London which is truly an exceptional private collection featuring many of the world’s most sought-after and highly regarded finest and rarest wines. Bordeaux and Burgundy form the majority of the offering along with wines from the finest Estates from Spain, Italy and California.
The selection from Bordeaux is stunning, with stellar years such as 1947, 1982, 1988, 1989, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2009 & 2010 and a great range from the 2011 vintage including magnums of First Growth’s which will be providing immense drinking pleasure at a younger age being from a more approachable vintage that does not require such long bottle maturation. Of particular note is a very rare magnum of Cheval Blanc 1947 that was reconditioned at the Château, an original wooden case of 1982 Château Latour, an exceptional long-lived wine that is at its apogee of drinking and large formats from Palmer, Lynch Bages and Mouton Rothschild. Lovers of Bordeaux are sure to be ecstatic about this stellar offering. Matured red Bordeaux is extraordinarily complex and develops fantastically well with slow steady bottle evolution as is the case with these wines being laid down in perfect storage conditions in professional storage in the UK since release.
For Burgundy lovers the selection of wines is mouth-watering with an extensive collection of exceedingly rare wines from Domaine de la Romanée-Conti – these are wines that are stunning examples of red Burgundy which are produced in such small volumes it is rare to see so many vintages of La Tâche, Richebourg, Grands-Echézeaux & Echézeaux for sale, and particularly DRC Assortments from the stellar 2005 & 2006 vintages – so do not miss this rare opportunity to acquire these fantastic wines from the world-famous DRC. The majority were bought direct from their UK agent and many had their original DRC metal bands around the wooden cases - exemplary condition and provenance. Also featured are exceptional wines from Clos de Tart, Bouchard, Grivot, Lelflaive and more.
Legendary producers from the Rhône, Spain, Italy and California complete this fantastic collection; Domaine de Pegau, Vega Sicilia, Giacomo Conterno, Soldera and Dominus. The wines were stored in professional storage in the UK and delivered to Christie’s specifically for this sale and are in generally excellent condition and their original wooden cases and cartons.
