The Octa Perpétuelle was the first ever F.P. Journe perpetual calendar wristwatch. The present watch bears the prestigious number 88 from the limited series of 99 pieces in titanium made between 2009 and 2010 to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the F.P. Journe Tokyo boutique.
The highly attractive combination of the titanium case with pink gold detailing is completed by the ruthenium plated gold dial, always a favourite and sought after colour among Journe enthusiasts. The Octa Perpétuelle was based on the Octa Calendrier but with the calendar mechanism upgraded from an annual to a perpetual calendar. The famous large retrograde date sector and apertures for the day and month of the Octa Calendrier were retained and ingeniously, a leap year indication was included which is only revealed when the month of February is displayed. A further addition to the model is the pusher at 8 o’clock for quick change of the months.
Very seldom offered at auction, only a handful of examples of this very special series have ever returned to the market. An important milestone watch as F.P. Journe’s first perpetual calendar, the Octa Perpétuelle can only become ever more desirable.
