Lot Essay

“Cloche” is the French word for bell and serves as the inspiration for the design of this watch which is based on a model Cartier first introduced in 1922. The asymmetrical design of the case and the atypical dial layout allows for the watch to be used as a miniature desk clock.

The present example is furthermore preserved in very excellent overall condition. The case is likewise very well preserved, retaining excellent proportions, it has mellowed beautifully over time, now developing an attractive patina.
