Offered in excellent overall condition and with the full set of accessories, this striking black forged carbon Royal Oak Offshore 'Ginza 7' was exclusively available from Audemars Piguet’s Tokyo boutique. Launched in July 2011 and made in a limited edition of 200 pieces, it was a key part of AP’s ‘Support Japan’ project. Standing apart from most other limited editions of the brand because 10% of the sales price of each watch was pledged to support the people of Japan as they attempted to rebuild their country after the severe earthquake off the coast of Japan and the resultant devastation caused by the tsunami that hit the country's northern coastal towns in 2011.
The Ginza 7 was offered in two variations; stainless steel or forged carbon. Each version limited to 200 pieces only, the caseback bears the engraved text: "Royal Oak Offshore Limited Edition" and "GINZA."
A further interesting aspect of the Ginza 7 is that the dial has a smooth finish and unlike most other Royal Oaks, is not decorated with AP’s signature ‘tapisserie’ pattern. The finer details of the dial are worthy of mention such as the diamond-set 7 hour numeral, the subtle charcoal colour of the other hour numerals and the thin rose gold surrounds of the subsidiary dials.
Very rarely seen at auction or on the open market, this watch presents the perfect opportunity for AP enthusiasts and collectors to acquire one of these now iconic Royal Oak Offshore Ginza 7’s.
