KASHMIR SAPPHIRES
There are many reasons why sapphires from Kashmir are the most sought after. Their colour is very particular and enhanced by a charming velvet-like silkiness. Most importantly, sapphires from Kashmir are very rare, as the mines were exhausted within just over a decade, having only been at full exploitation between 1881 and 1887.
