Hailed as "Texas' Greatest Artist," Julian Onderdonk is considered the state's most celebrated early 20th century painter for his glorious depictions of bluebonnets, the state flower. Field of Bluebonnets is an archetypal example of Onderdonk's celebrated landscapes which earned him the nicknamed the "Bluebonnet Painter."
