Introduced at the 2013 Baselworld for the 50th anniversary of the model, Ref. 116506 is the first platinum Daytona Chronograph ever made by Rolex. The chestnut-brown bezel is made of solid Cerachrom ceramic, with numerals and graduation drawn via PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) of an ultra-thin platinum layer. The resulting effect is perfect legibility and aesthetic beauty.

The 5 line dial, in perfect Cosmograph tradition, with the Rolex, Oyster Perpetual, Superlative Chronometer, Officially Certified, Cosmograph at 12 o' clock below the Rolex crown, the red Daytona designation above the central subsidiary dials. The chapter rings of the subdials are lacquered in the same tone as the Cerachrom bezel. The breath-taking ice-blue color of the dial, now an immediate visual identifier of platinum Rolex watches, is repeated to the side of the subdials, perfectly complimenting the cool beauty of the platinum case.

Ref. 116506 is equipped with the new-generation self-winding chronograph movement – calibre 4130 – entirely designed and manufactured in-house, making this the ultimate contemporary Daytona reference. This particular Lot has been sourced from the original owner, who’s care was evident by the outstanding condition and completeness from new.
