Harry Winston’s highly imaginative collaborations with some of the world’s foremost watchmakers in the creation of the brand’s Opus collections has attracted the attention of serious watch collectors, something that few jewellery houses have ever achieved.
Each year since 2001, a limited edition Opus model has been created in collaboration with an exceptional independent watchmaker. The original idea being that the independent watchmakers would achieve wider public recognition by the association with Harry Winston, at the same time enhancing Harry Winston’s reputation as a serious horological player. The results of the Opus collaborations have been highly impressive and the series has been responsible for the creation of some remarkable state-of-the-art timepieces
The present ‘Opus X’, celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Opus series is inspired by the planetary movements and replaces a traditionally fixed dial and watch hands with now time displayed as a system of rotating indicators mounted on a revolving frame completing one full rotation in 24-hours. Presenting a new technical challenge, as the frame completes a full rotation, the dials of each indicator turn in the opposite direction, ensuring orientation remains constant in any position. Futuristic, appealing and true to Harry Winston's technical innovation, this watch is crafted with the finest materials and the latest technologies are explored to create an innovative expression of time. In the continuing tradition of the Opus Series, the partnership on this model is paired with the watch engineer Jean-François Mojon, resulting in a ground-breaking accomplishment that is the essence of the Opus Series.
