The prestigious partnership between Girard Perregaux and Ferrari sparked in 1993 when Gino Macaluso, owner of Girard Perregaux and Luca di Montezemolo, president of Ferrari met at the time through a common acquaintance, jeweller Gianni Bulgari. At a young age, both gentlemen met on the race track as passionate drivers in the Italian rallies competing in a Fiat Abarth 124 Spider.
