This endangered species strap is shown for display purposes only and is not for sale. The watch will be supplied with a calf leather strap.

This extremely attractive reference 4956 chronograph with two-tone grey and silver dial and red “F1-2000” is the rarely seen and very striking 18k pink gold version of the reference and is immediately recognisable as one of Girard-Perregaux’s much sought after Ferrari editions. Made especially to celebrate Ferrari’s Formula One World Championship in 2000, the case back is further engraved ‘F1 World Champion 1999-2000-2001’. The year 2000 Formula 1 season was when Michael Schumacher finally gave Ferrari its first drivers' World Championship win since 1979 after a year-long battle with Mika Hakkinen for McLaren. Schumacher won the season's first two races after Hakkinen had retired from the lead and then narrowly beat him at Imola.

2001 F1 Championship
Thanks to an exceptional car, Michael Schumacher and Ferrari won the Driver's and Constructor's tittle three months before the end of the season.
