Lot Essay
Following the success of the first self-winding annual calendar wristwatch by Patek Philippe, the manufacturer launched Reference 5036 at the turn of the century in 1999. The 24 hour indicator was replaced with a moon phase, and a power reserve was added at 12 o’clock. The present lot, Reference 5036/1G-013, features a solid 18k white gold case and bracelet which add to the impressive weight and robustness of the wristwatch. The dial is matte black with applied luminous 18k white gold indices. The case is a refined 37mm with an impressive thickness under 13mm, making the watch suitable for all wrist sizes.
