etching with engraving and drypoint, 1634, on laid paper, watermark Basel Crosier (Hinterding A.a.1; dated circa 1634-35), a fine impression of the third state (of six), printing with strong contrasts, the distant landscape at left well defined, with margins, in very good condition

Probably Bindon Blood (died 1855), Edinburgh & Ennis, County Clare, Ireland (Lugt 3011); acquired in March 1847; presumably his sale, Sotheby's, London, 18 July 1856 (and following days), lot 414 (with a later impression).
