the complete set of eighty etchings with burnished aquatint, drypoint and engraving, 1797-98, on laid paper, without watermark, a very good set from the First Edition, published by the artist, Madrid, 1799, in an edition of approximately three hundred copies, very good to fine impressions, printing with great contrasts and bright highlights, with the scratch on plate 45, with wide margins, bound in a contemporary Spanish half-calf binding, with an orange gilt tooled label with letters FRAN./ GOYA. on the spine, the boards partially covered with brown marbled paper, with a red gilt tooled label with letters FRAN./ GOYA. on the front, with yellow-tinted sheet edges, some minor foxing in the margins, generally in very good condition
