Lot Essay

Presumably, the present example of this rare print is an impression of a second state, undescribed by Delteil, with some minor retouching and strengthening of the plate (from a small, slightly later edition of uncertain size) and it is the sheet with punchmarks in the plate corners mentioned by Susan Strauber (see Delteil/ Strauber 23, footnotes).
