En 1937, la société Matford, résultant de l'alliance entre Ford Manufacturing Company et du constructeur français Mathis, profite de l'Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques afin de mettre en valeur la beauté intrinsèque des différentes pièces mécaniques de ses voitures. Plusieurs objets sont conçus à partir de ces pièces, y compris cette horloge de table, réalisée avec des engrenages et produite à seulement 300 exemplaires.

In 1937, the Matford company, resulting from the alliance between Ford Manufacturing Company and the French car manufacturer Mathis, took advantage of the Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques to highlight the intrinsic beauty of the various mechanical parts of its cars. Several objects are designed from these parts, including this table clock, made with gears and of which only 300 copies are produced.
