From the late 1960s, Patek Philippe began to include specially designed highly exclusive lady’s jewellery in their range which naturally could, as with the present set, include a watch. These pieces were made in extremely small numbers, often unique pieces of avant-garde design they were intended to be worn to complement haute couture fashion. The timelessness of these creations is a testament to their resolutely modern design which is as relevant and eminently wearable today as it was over 40 years ago.

Produced between 1976 and 1978, the suites were made piece by piece, each differing from each other by the choice and shape of decoration, hence rendering them all unique pieces. The models are so far only known in yellow gold, the matching bracelets using the same diamond and hardstone decoration than the dials and bezels. Only three other sets are known publicly. The references where changed to 4321/1, 4321/2 etc. as soon as the variance became important. An advertisement for the 1976 Basel Fair shows a ref. 4321/1 yellow gold, diamond and coral watch with matching earrings and a ring. The onyx dials were made by Stern Frères, the cases by Ateliers Réunis and the bracelet, buckles and clasps by the highly esteemed firm of J.-P. Ecoffey.
