Lot Essay

Appointed in 1557, Zhu Yichan (1548-1620) became the first King of Changsha of the Ming dynasty. Being the descendant of the emperor Yingzong (1427-1464) after several generations, he was a Buddhist and a knowledgeable intellectual man. In 1620, Zhu Yichan passed away at the age of 73.
