Lot Essay

Founded in Paris in 1870 near the church of Notre Dame de Lorette, the firm Peter had established itself in the fashionable rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré by the end of the 19th century. At that time, the firm was one of the city's most celebrated manufacturers of table silver, and was patronized by France's noblest families.
