Lot Essay

F.P. Journe introduced the Chronomètre Bleu Byblos Model in 2014, in a limited number of only 99 examples. Made to commemorate the opening of the brand's 10th boutique-shop in Beirut, this unique timepiece was named after the city of Byblos, located on the Lebanese coast a few kilometers North of Beirut. Byblos was the cradle of Euro-Mediterranean civilization, being the worlds oldest Phoenician port and one of the most important commercial and cultural platforms of the region.

The dial represents the sun of the Orient set in a Mediterranean blue sky. The semi-skeletonized dial showcase the beautiful guilloché pink gold movement underneath. Furthermore, the 'J' in the F.P Journe logo is replaced by the Phoenician letter 'Yodh' pronounced 'J'. Yodh is also the 10th letter of the Phoenician alphabet, a nod to Journe’s 10th boutique opening in Beirut.

Fresh to the market, the present F.P. Journe Chronomètre Bleu Byblos numbered 64 is offered in excellent overall condition complete with its full set of accessories.
