Of lobed baluster form on shaped circular foot, with flared undulating rim and three loop handles, the body and handles chased with whiplash curves and tall irises, marked on underside and numbered H/VN

Lot Essay

According to Gorham's archives, loving cup H/VN was made in 64 hours by silversmith Alexander MacBeth. The chasing required an additional 44 hours and was accomplished by Christopher W. Cissold. The cup was completed on 15 September 1905, and had a net factory price of $180.
