Circular, on flared circular foot, the stem with spheres around the central band, the upper border applied with a die-roll dentil band, further applied with two handles fully modeled as stag heads, marked on underside twice with B mark in a lozenge for Bogert, twice with ENG' STERLING 925-1000, and with Tiffany & Co. Broadway mark, further numbered 18 and 3220

Lot Essay

The mark on the present lot indicates that it was made by William Bogert for Tiffany & Co. circa 1865. Bogert replaced Grosjean & Woodward as the major supplier of high end silver to Tiffany & Co. before the firm began producing its own silver in 1869.
