The stamps on the verso of this photograph have been identified as M28 and M29 in Steven Manford’s book, Behind the photo: the stamps of Man Ray (2009). According to Manford, M28 is a posthumously manufactured stamp “a perfectly fine twenties print, a posthumous print, or contact print, for example, may have such a stamp” (p. 42) and M29 is a posthumous copyright stamp “numerous photographs sold by Juliet and from the Trust carry an ADAGP stamp” (p. 37).
