Illustrée du Portrait imaginaire du Marquis de Sade de Man Ray, peint en 1938, reproduit en frontispice.
Exemplaire de Man Ray, qu'il annote, au frontispice, à destination de l'éditeur : "mal reproduit" et "voir originale". Et Man Ray joint la photographie originale, le tirage argentique de la toile (130 x 108 mm), annotée au verso : "tel que. Trame 100 à soigner".
La photographie détachée était montée sur le frontispice. L'édition ne sera pas corrigée.

Illustrated with the "Portrait imaginaire du Marquis de Sade" by Man Ray, painted in 1938, as frontispiece.
Man Ray's own copy, annotated by the artist on the frontispiece, for the publisher: ["Wrongly reproduced"] and ["see original"]. Man Ray added the original photograph, the silver print of the painting (130 x 108 mm), annotated on the back : ["as it is. Trame 100. With care"]. The photograph was mounted with remains of tape. The edition won't be corrected.
